When did you join Galen, and what do you do here?
I joined Galen in May of 2019. I am an Associate Technical Consultant working on the VCO (VitalCenter Online) team.
What was your background prior to joining Galen?
I joined Galen fresh after graduating from The University of Vermont. While at UVM, I did computational research in several areas including Multiple Sclerosis, Epilepsy, and golf swing types.
What are you looking forward to as we continue to grow as a company?
I look forward to being able to grow with it. When there is rapid growth, employees can help out in new roles as well as growing their skills within their roles.
What has been most unexpected about working here?
One thing that I didn’t really expect was how many friends I would make in such a short amount of time. I expected to have coworkers that I enjoyed working with but I didn’t expect that they would become my friends so quickly. The Galen culture and everyone who works here have been great at making my first year here such a success.
What does your day-to-day job involve and why are you passionate about it?
The bulk of my work consists of client projects to harvest data from legacy applications and prepare for archiving. I have regular daily meetings related to those projects as well as meetings with my team to talk about things both work-related, industry-related, and general discussion. I am passionate about the work I do because I am challenged every day, and the work that we do at Galen has a positive impact in healthcare delivery.
